I had my very first baseball experience yesterday at Citi Field, the new home of the New York Mets. They played a double header against the Colorado Rockies. Unfortunately, the Mets lost both games. The eight hour event consisted of  burger, fries, pull pork sandwich, popcorn, soda and a Nathan’s hotdog.

I entered my room at the Cancun Caribe Park Royal Grand Hotel and a huge grim immediately grew on my face. Not only was I given a huge room with an oceanfront view, I was also greeted by a delightfully delicious dessert – chocolate covered strawberries dipped in a sweet and tangy alcoholic cream. My knees grew weak as soon as I took my first bite.

The Rumeli Hisari, also known as the Rumelian Castle, is a fortress in Istanbul, Turkey located on the European side of the Bosporus River. It was built in four months and 16 days by Ottoman Sultan Mehmed II to prevent aid from reaching Constantinople via the Black Sea. The Rumeli Hisari is now a museum and a theater venue.
